Issue #10: There Are Green Pastures Ahead

About

Christian history is full of trees. Here a tree. There a tree. Everywhere a tree tree. Christendom is a scattered seed; we’ve had burning bushes, a cross, fruits of the spirit, lynchings…. Oh, wait. Lynchings? Yes. Lynchings. Because people didn’t think critically about what was influencing their actions.

The Willow Tree People are critically thinking, wholistic Christians with a forum for discussion. You’re probably familiar with microbreweries and all of their glory. Well, we’re a micro-publication. We’re like a salon in the Renaissance, sans all the famous philosophers. We think that healthy criticism will lead to redemptive action, so here we are, questioning, evaluating, trying to understand God and each other better through discussion. We’re given the mandatory opportunity to care enough about God and our world to ask unanswerable questions, to run our palms over the cracks and crevices in this rock of the Church; we are the body of Christ, and we have found legitimate wounds in which we may place our fingers to seek belief.
